He Like Big Books and He Cannot Lie - November 27, 2020

- Neil takes Jinorah back from Zaril and settles her on his shoulders.

- The group looks around to see if there is a door knocker, but it looks like this might not be a door meant for receiving visitors.

- Acta casts Thaumaturgy to make a loud door knocking sound without sacrificing anyone's knuckles. It should be loud enough to be heard within the cave.

- Neil quiets himself and senses a dragon a few hundred feet ahead of him.

- The door opens and a very tall man with very broad shoulders, a longish red beard.

- They introduce themselves and explain why they have come, and he invites them in.

- They chat for a while in his parlor (a nice room with comfy chairs and a fireplace)

- Acts shows Gerard her "souvenirs" and gives him an Infinity fruit and it tastes like a fine aged cheese

- Gerard agrees to let them read "Gods and Titans: A Treatise on the Probable Shaping of the Material Plane" and brings them to the library.

- The library is the largest single room any of the party has ever seen. It's at least six stories tall (maybe more) and seems to be a majority of the hollowed-out mountain in this one room. They are in awe.

- Zaril gives Neil the rabbits she caught earlier in the morning to feed to Jirnorah and Acta buggers off to the kitchen.

- Gerard brings them the book, Zaril settles in to read it and Sariel takes notes for her. He says to be careful with it because it's a VERY OLD book, but it looks almost brand new.

- Apparently, it was Mended by an enthusiastic halfling friend in the not-too-distant past.

- Luca browses some of the books and stays near her researching friends.

- Acta finds the kitchen easily and there's a buffet table with quite a spread of food that Acta detects some Enchantment magic. She spots a white teacup and decides to take the demon scales and a bit of brain matter to make a pattern that will appear or disappear depending on the temperature of the liquid put in the cup.

- Neil lets Jinorah explore a bit, but has to physically remove her from chewing on a bed leg.

- Zaril and Sariel learn that Agrexost is an Ice Titan, and would want to create / spread tundra-like environs over as much of the material plane as possible.

- He is described as extremely large, bipedal, with an affinity for cold. He would prefer to be either in absolutely freezing temperatures or in the wastes between planes.

- The author speculates that the titans disappeared because they exhausted themselves killing each other fighting for supremacy to make the kind of habitats they each wanted and / or that the gods intervened and subdued or sent them away.

- They find Gerard and ask him if he has any books about the wastes between planes.

- Neil is still following Jinorah when she comes darting back up the hallway and jumps onto his shoulder and drops something heavy-ish into his backpack.

- He looks into his backpack and finds a brass candlestick with filigree. He goes looking for his friends to ask if they can fix the bed she chewed on.

- They all meet up with Gerard again

- Zaril and Sariel asks about magics that would transport something to the wastes between planes.

- Neil asks more about how to parent a wyrmling. He's not much help, but he doesn't think a leash would be of much use. He also graciously allows the baby to keep the candlestick but asks that they try to keep her from taking too many of his possessions. He does mention that she's basically collecting junk at this point and when she reaches the Young Dragon stage she'll have developed enough maturity to figure out what she actually wants to hoard rather than just collecting random things that strike her momentary fancy at which time she will abandon her baby hoard.

- Acta tells Gerard about the teacup she decorated for him.

- Gerard gives Zaril a book called Morten's Experiments in Teleportation.

- Morten seems to have accidentally sent things to the place between planes when his experiments went awry.

- Gerard is about 500 years old to Ellilune's 2-3 thousand. Gerard has books of recorded history dating back to about 6 thousand years ago.

- There is a lot of speculation about the titan (probably resistant or immune to magics, alien way of thinking)

- Gerard shows the group to a guest room in which Zaril casts M's Magnificent Mansion, but Acta asks if she can sleep with Gerard in his dragon form because that would be such a unique experience, and he agrees. !!!

- 4,000 XP ea for 170,700 total ea.
