- Swamp Cooler v. Redneck AC
- The group wakes up refreshed with the Alarm spell untriggered.
- They are slightly soggy as there's not much high ground
- Acta takes her turn climbing a tree to check the direction of their travel
- She sees smoke in the direction they intend to travel
- It is a difficult slog to get through the swamp without a path
- In the early afternoon, LACS comes to a clearing with shaggy grass and purple flowers
- Sariel stops everyone because the plants look weird and out of place compared to the other vegetation in this forest/swamp, she does Detect Magic as a ritual, but doesn't see anything
- Luca and Neil notice there is a small pile of bones at one edge of the clearing
- Penny sniffs around, but she doesn't notice anything
- Acta starts picking flowers
- The ground begins to rumble under Sariel's feet and the ground tries to fold her into itself, a thing that looks like a flying carpet made of
Earthen Engagement
- Acta casts Hex on the Plant Monster (Disadvantage on Wis ST), she then misses it with Firebolt
- Cornelius casts Ensnaring Strike on his bow and shoots it from point-blank range for 10 piercing dmg, but saves from the Ensnaring Strike
- PM smashes C for 9 bludgeoning dmg then misses on the second attack
- Penny darts around a tree and Pounces on the PM for 8 slashing dmg and then bites it for 10 piercing dmg
- Sariel moves to flank with Penny summons a Flame Blade, but misses the PM, very sadly
- Luca moves to the PM next to Neil and casts Wrathful Smite and her hammer glows then misses when swinging it
- A runs around to flank the PM with Luca and then slashes it with her xiphos for 25 slashing and 5 necrotic dmg (Hex)
- C stabs it with his short sword for 7 piercing dmg
- PM "stands up" and then misses then hits Acta for 12 bludgeoning dmg, and she loses Concentration on her Hex spell
- Penny bites the PM for 10 piercing dmg
- Sariel misses again with her Flame Blade
- L smashes the PM with her hammer for 9 bludgeoning and 4 psychic dmg and then becomes Frightened of Luca
- Acta casts Hex again (Dis - Wis ST) then slashes it with her xiphos for 10 slashing and 3 necrotic dmg
- C stabs the PM for 8 piercing dmg
- PM smashes Acta for 7 bludgeoning then again for 9 bludgeoning and she is Engulfed, she is Blinded, Restrained, and unable to breathe, but it takes 14 fire dmg from Hellish Rebuke (probably 7, fire seems less effective than anticipated)
- Penny moves around to flank with Luca, then bites the PM for 8 piercing dmg
- S casts Moonbeam on the PM for 4 radiant dmg then moves to flank with C
- L smashes the PM for 4 bludgeoning dmg
- A struggles, but fails to Escape
- C stabs the PM for 11 piercing dmg
- PM digests A for 10 bludgeoning dmg, and she passes out, then it misses Luca twice
- Penny misses biting the PM
- S hits the PM for 5 fire dmg
- L smashes the PM with her hammer for 7 bludgeoning dmg
- A fails her first Death ST
- C casts Ensnaring Strike and then stabs the PM for 8 piercing dmg but the Ensnaring Strike has no effect
- PM digests A (she takes a Death ST fail), then the creature Disengages and runs away
- Penny Pounces on the PM for 10 slashing dmg knocking it Prone and then bites it for 10 piercing dmg shredding it apart leaving Acta behind covered in bits of plant
- Cornelius climbs a tree to check their direction, but all he sees are trees in every direction, no smoke, no path
- Everyone agrees that it was it was a "Plant Monster"! (Very bad Nature rolls all around)
- Group agrees to travel a bit more out of this immediate area and make camp as soon as they find a dry spot
- It begins to rain.
